More than 20 years ago, “Enema of the State” made Blink 182 the kings of pop punk. But fast forward to the fall of 2019, and the appropriately titled album “Nine” finds Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Matt Skiba (marking is second record with the trio) trading in their signature upbeat melodies and playful choruses for a more modern sound and darker lyricism … but does the band succeed at this transition?

That’s what Matt and Zach discuss in Epic Footnote Productions’ “2 Minutes to Review,” a podcast that’s part album review and part competition. In each episode, both hosts are given two minutes each to review a newly released album, a recent reissue, or a record they’re revisiting after years of going unlistened. Whoever gives the longest review in under two minutes wins.
